The Inpatient Physician Associates Hospitalist Program

The Inpatient Physician Associates Hospitalist Program provides around-the-clock care by physicians, PA’s, and APRN’s who specialize in adult, inpatient care.

Registered nurses also serve the team as hospitalist coordinators. Their primary job is to make sure all communications regarding your patient’s care are coordinated with everyone involved.

Teamwork Makes All the Difference

The success of hospitalist care can be attributed to bringing a group of experienced healthcare professionals together in a coordinated team effort. It begins with your direct consultation with the hospitalist and continues through the close working relationships among hospitalist coordinators, nursing staff, caseworkers and therapists.

A hospitalist is always available to take your call and arrange patient care. When you refer a patient to IPA for hospitalist care, the hospitalist will:

  • Work with you, medical center staff members, hospitalist coordinators and other physicians to coordinate your patient’s care.

  • Provide frequent follow-up visits to your patient and be available to discuss treatment plans and answer questions.

  • Make timely decisions based on your patient’s changing status.

  • Notify you of any unexpected changes in your patient’s condition.

  • Call you to review your patient’s clinical course upon dismissal.

  • Fax you a summary discharge report on dismissal.

  • Always refer your patient back to you for follow-up care.
